Capture Moments, Craft Memories
Celebrate the bond you share with your dog through timeless, emotive fine-art portraiture taken with authenticity.
Wagtography was created by Andrew Wagner to service a passion for photography and a lifetime love of dogs, architecture and nature.
Originally from North East England I moved to Melbourne in 2011 and now live in the inner west suburb of Newport with my partner Ness. Photography has been my passion for many years, focusing on landscapes, nature and architecture where I create wall art to sell, but things changed in May 2025! “Gigi” the English Springer Spaniel supermodel came into our life!
Throughout our lives Ness and I have always loved having dogs around us and we decided to bring “Gigi” into our lives. This was the catalyst to combine my passion for photography and capture life long memories of our loved pooch in quality printed artwork.

Your Questions, Answered
How far in advance should I book a session?
We recommend reaching out at least four to six weeks ahead of your desired date to ensure availability and allow time for collaborative planning. However, we do accommodate last-minute projects when our schedule permits.
Does my dog need to be able to sit and stay on command?
No not at all, our focus is to make the shoot as natural and fun for you and your pooch as possible. Most of our shoots are done on leash and we won’t force your dog to do anything they don’t want to do. Their safety and wellbeing is of paramount importance to us.
Where do the dog portrait sessions take place?
We have a selection of locations we use on a regular basis, but it will depend on you pooch. As part of the initial consultation we will explore more about the character of your pooch, their temperament and what they love doing. With this information we will provide you with some suggestions.
Do I get a copy of the digital images after the session booking?
We provide you with the option to download high resolution digital content of all images where artwork has been purchased as well as social media versions of the same images for you to share with your family and friends. We do NOT provide digital only content to our clients after a portrait session has been completed.
My dog wears a harness or a gentle leader, is that a problem?
We recommend dogs do not wear these unless you would like to include them in the final version of the artwork. Although it is possible to remove these in post process editing it can provide an unnatural looking image due to the large amount of fur covered by the harnesses and the shadows cast across the rest of the pooch. We recommend that a collar and leash are used instead unless there is a safety issue that prevents this from happening. Either way we can discuss this in the initial consultation session to determine the best way forward.
